Originally founded by the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), CONNECT seeks to create partnerships between the university and private enterprises including the defense industry (MAXIM Systems, SAIC, SPAWAR). Their board of directors consists primarily of high-ranking members of UCSD's science and technology fields. CONNECT affiliates include The Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT).
