The Beyster Institute at the UCSD Rady School of Management began as the Foundation for Enterprise Development (Foundation), a non-profit established in 1986 by Dr. J. Robert Beyster. Dr. Beyster is more known for founding Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), one of the largest defense contractors in the United States.
